GRACE SANTORINI
Our award-winning design for the refurbishment of the Grace Santorini hotel was voted best hotel by Conde Nast Traveller. Our brief was to create a stunning hotel with a unique, iconic design to capture the best of Greece. Our aim was to re-define the ‘Cycladic’ interior by creating a luxurious, contemporary yet authentically Greek scheme. Our challenge was to complete the total refurbishment of all the guest rooms and the restaurant and create a new reception, champagne bar, spa, gym and retail space during the hotel’s very short 6-month winter closure.
With sustainability as a main focus of the our design, we sourced materials locally, using Greek marble and walnut throughout the hotel. Each piece of furniture in the guest rooms is bespoke and designed with comfort in mind. The bathrooms include large vanities with double basins hand-carved from Greek Statuario marble. The curved headboards, which cradle the beds are our expression of the commonly found cave-like features of Cycladic architecture.
These design themes continue throughout the hotel’s public spaces. The warm glow of the onyx bar in the hotel’s new lounge invites guests to enjoy the cosy and intimate setting. Deep-cushioned sofas and lounge chairs on the terrace are perfect for taking in the stunning view. The white color scheme of the refreshed restaurant gives the space a light and airy feel whilst the triangular 3-D wall effect wrapping the room offers a minimalistic version of a rock-covered cave wall.
The new luxurious spaces at Grace Santorini with their bespoke details, high quality materials, finishes and amenities set the hotel apart.
